The biggest threat of our time – unexpected hybrid war. It is now in the Donbass, a region of Eastern Ukraine, involving an open armed conflict alongside robberies on a mass scale perpetrated by gangs. Everything is blurred. In the Donbass, war is called love, propaganda is uttered as truth, hatred is declared to be love. It’s not about one region, one country or one political system, it’s about humanity and civilization in general. It’s about each and every one of us. Loznitsa made a film adequate to contemporary times. This is how we read the reality – cut into dozens of short videos, which we scroll with increasing indifference. The film, divided into 13 segments, being a gallery of peculiar figures, is heading for a shocking final.
