The American dream of success – from a seller of nuts to an Emmy award winner – is the shortest description of the film. Sławomir Grünberg decided to emigrate to the USA as a result of the imposition of martial law in Poland. The protagonist of the film himself says that he has matured to make films for an American viewer, becoming an American, but retaining his individuality. Thanks to this, he kept his perspective ‘from a distance’, a different view, a unique perspective – so valued by the audience not only in the USA, but also in the whole world.
