DESCRIPTION

It was director’s dream, to sheds a light on one of the most fascinating character of contemporary Brazilian history’s. In 1969 Carlos Marighella leads the largest resistance against the Brazilian military dictatorship in the 60’s. His main enemy is Lucio, a police officer who names him Brazil’s number one enemy. As the police closes in, Marighella is caught in an ambush and killed – but his ideals live on through the young revolutionaries who continue his fight. It is also film about the eternal fight for liberty and progress.


DIRECTOR
Wagner Moura (1976) He graduated in journalism by Universidade Federal da Bahia. He is one of Brazil’s most famous actors, with over 25 films on his resume and a series of awards, the most recent of which is a Golden Globe nomination for his role in Netflix’s “Narcos.” Besides his acting career, Moura is a lyricist and the vocalist of a band named Sua Mãe (Your Mum). Marighella is his directional feature debut. Film was premiered at Berlinale in 2019.
