After forty years of career as a piano tuner, ones can retire with ease. Or face a lifetime challenge – to transport a 100-year-old, 80 kilograms Broadwood & Sons grand piano to primary school in Zanskar in the heart of the Indian Himalayas. It is the highest place in the world where the piano was brought. In transport Sherpas help is irreplaceable, it all happening on yaks and ponies. Overcoming mountain passes and narrow lanes is a beautiful experience, but physically and mentally exhausting. More importantly, it will be the ultimate gesture of music’s universal power: to inspire strength and bring joy.

Michał Sulima – He is a self-taught filmmaker born in Poland. He began as a photographer in commercial and fashion sector. After graduation in Photography from University of the Arts London his short film was officially selection at the London Short Film Festival. He made some shorts and commercials. Piano to Zanskar is his first feature-length documentary as a director.
