DESCRIPTION

An adaptation of Henri Bataille's Maman Colibri, one of the most ambitious films of interwar Poland. Neglected by her husband, still beautiful, mature Irena involves into an affair with Jerzy, a friend of her adult son. When the relationship comes out, she chooses life with a lover and goes with him to Zakopane. During the blizzard Jerzy rescues an attractive Tamara and the young fall in love with each other. Distraught Irena is experiencing a total collapse by traveling through European casinos.

DIRECTOR
Michał Waszyński alias Mosze Waks (1904-1965) One of the most important film directors of the interwar period in Poland. In 1941, he joined the Polish Army, General Anders, with whom he moved to Iran, Palestine and Italy. After the war, he worked on the production of Italian and American films made in Europe.
